Terms and Conditions
TaxEase educational material has been approved by CTEC as continuing education overview and
update course, which provides 12 hours of federal, 4 hours CA, 2 hours ethics plus 2 hours of
either Fed or CA credit towards the annual Continuing Education requirement imposed by the
State of CA. TaxEase "Become A Tax Preparer" Course consists of 45 hours Federal and 15
hours of CA Qualifying Education. Additional information is available by contacting CTEC at
P.O. Box 2890, Sacramento, CA 95812-2890, by phone at 877-850-2832 or at www.CTEC.org.
The open-book exam consists of multiple choice and true/false questions which are directly
related to the course material provided. A minimum score of 70% is required for successful
course completion. The student may retake the test as many times as necessary provided a new
answer sheet is resubmitted. Upon successful completion of the course a certificate will be
issued to the student. CTEC will be updated online with the information. CTEC still requires a
copy of the certificate, payment and proof of a valid $5,000 bond before the student's
registration is complete.
In compliance with CTEC regulations we provide an evaluation form to be returned to TaxEase
with the answer sheet. We rely on these student assessments to improve the program for future
participants. The testing material could include typographical errors; changes and corrections are
periodically added to the material and incorporated in new publications.
All test material is available through this website or by mail or phone. TaxEase is confident that
the student will find the information informative and helpful to their tax practice. If the student
wishes to return the product, a full refund will be issued upon return of all materials within 30
days of date ordered and prior to submission of any answer sheet for grading.
